Could you have unclaimed money out there?

It’s not uncommon for investments, shares, bank accounts and insurance policies to become lost when a person forgets to update his or her information after moving residence. Unclaimed money is tracked and documented by the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC).
ASIC allows individuals to conduct free unclaimed money searches on its web database using either an original transaction number or just your name. If lost money is found, the owner is then able to lodge a claim to receive it. To check if you have any unclaimed money out there, click the link:


If nothing is revealed in an ASIC search, you can look for other types of unclaimed money through the Australian Taxation Office, the Fair Work Ombudsman or state government websites.
